Riksten

80s influenced electro pop meets club

Riksten is a Berlin-based electro-pop project founded in 2025 by Sten Wanski and Henrik Birke. Rooted in the melodic sensibility of 1980s synth-pop and the drive of modern dance music, Riksten combines club tracks with song-oriented songwriting.

The two musicians had already worked together in the early 2000s in the electro-pop band Le-Plaisir. Even then, they were actively shaping Berlin's club culture—as organizers and live acts of the party series “Nacht der elektronischen Befreiung”, which took them to numerous clubs throughout the city. The project gained attention at continuous live presence with performances ranging from the Emergenza Festival to the Columbiahalle, as well as at events such as the YOU youth fair and open-air festivals such as the SonneMondSterne Festival.

Later on, Sten produced electronic club music under the pseudonym ARCOVER together with progressive house producer Dirk Bettermann. These energetic productions are now remastered and together with the new material they build the "Riksten Kosmos": melodic electronic songs designed for both the dance floor and attentive listening.
